Never Forgotten/Our Memorial

Bailey

Bailey was saved off a post online. He was going to be sent to auction if a new home was not found. He was 4 weeks old and I immediately went to pick him up and brought him home in the back seat area of my truck. The heart on his head so prominent. He was healthy except for ringworm so he could not be put immediately with Bucket. After finishing his bottle feeding and getting him all healthy, Bucket and Bailey became immediate friends. They are absolutely best friends to this day. Bailey loves to run and do big hops especially when he sees us, treats, hay or just when he is called. He is the biggest resident on the farm but oh so sweet and lovable.

Bailey grew to an enormous size. He made Bucket, Miles and Journey look small and they are not. He was guiness book of world records big as we unofficially measured him at the withers and he was 6'8 tall. He was 10'10 long. The World Record holder for 2024 is 6'3 at the withers.  So no matter if our measurement was accurate or not - he was right there as one of the tallest steers ever. Bailey passed away on September 7, 2025 just shy of his 8th Birthday. His size took it's toll on his body but he didn't tell me until the very end. Animals are so stoic. Bailey and the boys were 4 peas in a pod. He was definitely the most social and was always at the fence to greet you, take treats and just wanting some love. And boy did he give his love back. When he was laying down, I could often go out and just lay with him. He would let me lean up against him. In the winter, his coat would be so warm from the winter sun. Trying to take a selfie was always funny as he was so big, you would just get his nose or ear and part of his face as you needed gigantic arms to get his whole face. His ear was as big as my face. His heart on his forehead and his gigantic heart stole many people's hearts and his loss has been undescribable loss to myself, the boys, his Sponsor Mom and everyone who loved him. We miss you Bailey more than words can say! We love you sweet boy! Be big up in Heaven and keep meeting me at the fence. I love you!!
