Dee along with Pete were rescued from the same vet school as Charlie and Blondie. These cuties were rescued in May 2019 along with Carolyn who sadly passed away weeks later. Pete and Dee also bonded on the long drive to Virginia and they were one of our cutest couples on the farm. Always laying together. Dee also known as Dismount Dee was famous for her crazy, high dismounts. She was always smiling and loved to be brushed. It was hard to brush anyone else because she kept putting her body wherever it needed to be to be brushed. She was so incredibly sweet and fought so hard being such a trooper once her one leg started to give away to CAE symptons. A disease she would have gotten from her Mom before she came to Little Buckets. The vet school should have never been breeding goats with CAE.
Dee's Birthday was March 5, 2019 and she passed away on September 9, 2024 crossing the rainbow bridge peacefully with me holding her. She had told me it was time, she got to say goodbye to Pete and all her friends. Even though it is absolutely devastating to have to make that decision, I will never allow an animal be in pain and suffer. I always give them the chance to fight if I see the fight but sometimes as with Dee, she told she was done fighting. And I understood.
