Goldie is both Trigger and Abby's Mom. She was at a farm next door to a friend who taught me most of what I know about horses. When I got my first farm, I was able to provide a new home for Trigger and the farm asked if I would like to take Goldie too. And of course I said Yes. Goldie is as sweet as they come. She has battled PSSM and major joint/muscular issues however she remained always so happy and mobile enough. She had several babies and Trigger was one of them prior to knowing her. Trigger and her got to spend all but one year together. I was so happy to be able to give her a home. She also took on the role of Aunt Goldie with baby Willow and befriended Olive when she so needed a friend to guide her and help her through her pregnancy with baby Willow. Goldie was truly a ray of sunshine everyday. She was amazing with the volunteers. She needed a special diet and we would bring her out of the field every day then she would just roam the farm for awhile often coming back to the gate on her own when she was ready to go back in with the girls. Goldie got to celebrate her 28th birthday. We had made the gut wrenching decision to let her go shortly after as Goldie's eyes looked tired. Her body was failing her and we never wanted her to have to suffer. So on a beautiful spring day at the end of March 2024, we heartbreakingly said goodbye to our Goldie Girl. She is so missed everyday. She is forever in our hearts. We are lucky to still have a part of Goldie here with Trigger and Abby.
We had to say goodbye to our Goldie Girl on March 27, 2024, one week after her 28th Birthday.
